Former Junior middleweight title challenger Deandre "The Bull" Latimore reached out to BoxingScene.com to issue the following statement.
"I see Erislandy Lara is always on BoxingScene asking for fights. Why doesn't he fight me? I want to fight the best guys out there. People would like to see two young guys like us go at it in the ring."
Lara (15-0) has won his past 4 fights via 1st round knockout. Latimore (21-3) is known for his punching power and feels the potential clash would be great for the fans. "I think a fight between Lara and myself would be great for the fans in attendance and on TV. Our styles go together perfectly. If Lara really wants to step up his competition I am sure he would have no problem fighting me. "
Latimore lost a split decision to Cory Spinks in April of 2009 in a fight that was for the vacant IBF junior middleweight championship. The Bull is looking for a high profile victory to position himself for another shot at a title.
