Steve Feder, manager of cruiserweight contender Lateef Kayode (18-0, 14KOs), advised BoxingScene.com that there are ongoing discussions to have his boxer join the Top Rank stable. Feder has been speaking with Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum and everything looks "positive" so far.
Kayode was last seen in the ring a year ago, fighting Antonio Tarver to a twelve round draw. The fight was later changed to a no-contest after Tarver tested positive for a banned substance.
Feder indicates that Kayode, still trained by Freddie Roach, would return to action as full fledged heavyweight. Kayode has already bulked up to 218-pounds, says Feder.
