Back in April on BoxingScene.com, undefeated junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (15-0-1, 10KOs) challenged former champion Paul "The Punisher" Williams (39-2, 27KOs), and Lara vowed to "end his career." On July 9th, Lara will face Williams in an HBO televised main event. The Cuban slugger still appears to be confident of his ability to end the fight with a knockout. He doesn't expect Williams, who returns from a second round knockout loss to Sergio Martinez, to last the distance.
"I'm coming to the fight with a pillow, blanket and a teddy bear, because I want Williams to be comfortable when he hits the floor this time. I hope he comes to fight because I'm going to end this with a knockout. Sergio Martinez put Williams to sleep, but I'm going to put him in a coma," Lara said.
