Cuban junior middleweight Erislandy Lara (15-1-1, 10KOs) did not agree with referee Jon Schorle's decision to disqualify Carlos Molina in the tenth round of his fight with James Kirkland on Saturday night in Houston, Texas. Lara fought Molina to a controversial draw last March and hoped his former opponent would come out victorious to set up a rematch.

Molina, well ahead on two scorecards, was dropped in the tenth round. The bell rang as he fell. Molina got to his feet within a second or two. Because the bell rang and Molina was on his feet, the boxer's cornerman partially entered the ring and he was told to get out by the ref, who finished giving Molina a standing eight count - and then disqualified the boxer.

"Molina got robbed of the win and Kirkland is a fraud. I will bet my purse, winner
take all, against Kirkland. He won't go two rounds with me," Lara said.
