Lanardo Tyner is the only fighter to have defeated Charles Hatley, who challenges Jermell Charlo for an alphabet junior middleweight belt on Saturday. Tyner (32-10-2, 20 KOs) dropped Hatley twice en route to a first round TKO in 2012.

In addition, Tyner also previously served as sparring partner to Charlo. Having tangled with both fighters, he is familiar with their respective assets and liabilities and how their styles will match up. In his 10 career defeats, including a 2009 loss to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Tyner has never been stopped. In his 13-year career, he has predominantly played the role of gatekeeper in the 140- and 147-pound divisions.

Asked if Hatley's chin can hold up to Charlo's punches, Tyner simply responded: "No."

“To me, Charlo should win this fight with no problem in five rounds or sooner,” Tyner said. “He should stop (Hatley), but this is boxing so I won't be surprised no matter what happens."
