On March 8th at the Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, Thomas "Cornflake" Lamanna (10-0) will face his toughest test to date. Lamanna will take on perennial spoiler Joshua Snyder (9-8-1), on the ESPN 2 "Friday Night Fights" undercard headlined by Victor Cayo vs. Emmanuel Taylor.
"They are stepping me up. Right now I am scheduled for a 6 rounder but I am 90% sure it is going to be an 8 rounder" shares Lamanna.
The fight if changed would mark the first time the Jr. Middleweight prospect will move past 6 rounds.
Snyder, is no stranger to facing undefeated prospects, was responsible for for providing the then highly touted Aaron Pryor Jr with his first blemish in the loss column. Snyder also faced top class opposition such as Matt Korobov, Ossie Duran, & Demetrius Hopkins.
"I think Josh Snyder is a tough guy. He definitely comes to fight. I've seen him fight more than once" tells Lamanna.
"He has been in there with great guys. He has beaten some, lost to some, lost close decisions to some, and has got his a$$ beat by some. I know he is coming in overlooking me. He probably thinks I am he easiest 10-0 victory he can probably get. My people are not dumb, I am not dumb, and I hope Josh Snyder is not dumb. I hope he knows what he is getting himself into!" announced Lamanna
Lamanna is planning to use this opportunity to silence his critics. He explains "I personally think jaws are going to be dropped after the performance, I am hoping and have been training my @$$ off for, I expect to put on!"
The entire event will be promoted by Sampson Lewkowicz & Sampson Boxing. The co-main event will be hard hitting Heavyweight prospect Magomed Abdusalamov as he takes on once defeated Victor Bisbal.
