WBC/IBF #13 ranked cruiserweight Dmitry “The Russian Hammer” Kudryashov (16-0, 16 KOs), fresh of his sensational first-round knockout of ex-WBC titlist Juan Carlos Gomez last Friday night, will fight next on March 28 within the same show with world 200lb titlists Denis Lebedev and Grigory Drozd.

“Dmitry’s next fight is pre-planned for March. We’ve been conducting some negotiations; we have some names to choose from. Those will be top-15 fighters; we aren’t planning to lower the bar. I have to remind you that Russian fighters don’t hold WBO and IBF titles. It’s a gap we tend to fill in, to make our guys WBO and IBF champions. Given that, we shall move Dmitry deeper into WBO/IBF rankings where he belongs; however, we aim at raising his position in all four major sanctioning bodies. Luckily, Kudryashov – a fighter with truly championship potential – doesn’t worry about those plans. He is ready to fight everyone who is put in front of him”, commented Kudryashov’s manager Vyacheslav Karakash to RIA Novosti.
