In what will be his biggest test to date, Toowoomba’s own hard hitting Kris George will take on Newcastle’s Dean Cambridge on the “Smithy Brings the big fights 4” card on June 7th, headlined by Les “Lock N Load” Sherrington.
The undefeated George (3W(2KO)-0L) is coming off an impressive unanimous decision over Townsville’s Jay Thompson, which saw him go the distance for the first time as a professional.
However he will need to utilize every ounce of experience gained from his short professional career to over come this new challenge in Dean Cambridge.
Cambridge who having had 7 professional fights (4W(2KO) – 3L) has more experience in the boxing ring then George’s 3 previous opponents combined, is no stranger to darling downs boxers having previously dispersed of another hard hitting Toowoomba boxer Brad Drennan in a six round war which was televised on fox sports.
Promoter Brendon Smith said he was very excited about the way this card is shaping up.
“This will be one of the biggest cards in Toowoomba in the last decade,” said Smith.
“Once again every fight will be a 50/50 fight and this one is no different, both boys will need to be at 100% to take the win and I’m sure as always with Kris, it will be an exciting fight.”
Tickets to “Smithy Brings the Big fights 4” will remain the same as the previous events, that is $45 for general and $75 for ringside.
