Should Sergey Kovalev - who defends his IBF/WBA/WBC light heavyweight titles against Isaac Chilemba in Russia on Monday - and Andre Ward (who takes on Alexander Brand on August 6th) win their upcoming fights - then they are scheduled to face each other on November 19th on HBO pay-per-view.
The fall months are loaded with pay-per-view fights, starting with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, who faces Liam Smith on September 17th. Then there is the anticipated return of one Manny Pacquiao. And there is word that Miguel Cotto and RocNation Sports are looking for a date.
But this busy roster of pay-per-view offerings doesn't bother the head of Main Events, Kathy Duva, who promotes Kovalev.
"No, because we've got the best fight and that's how I have to look at it," she said. "We have the best team, we have the best fight and I'm very, very excited and energized about this. I know people have to make choices and at this point we're talking about three other fights and at this point not all the other fights have been made, yet. So let's see.
"There's no point in me getting nervous at this point. But I think if you had to pick one, I've got to tell you, you're going to pick ours. I don't think it's a close call."
