WBA (Super), WBO and IBF light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev wants to become the first boxer to score a knockout win over Juergen Braehmer or Andrzej Fonfara.

Braehmer, who holds the WBA's 'regular' title at 175-pounds, has a voluntary defense coming up in a rematch against Eduard Gutknecht on March 12th.

Fonfara does not have a fight scheduled on the calendar, but there have been rumors of a rematch with WBC champion Adonis Stevenson. They fought each other in 2014, with Stevenson dropping Fonfara twice and tasting the canvas himself in the later rounds before winning a decision.

"Braehmer, like Fonfara, has never been knocked out as a boxer. That's why I want to become the first boxer who manages to do this. In fact, Braehmer and Fonfara are both very interesting opponents, very dangerous opponents. My next fight will be a voluntary defense of the title in accordance with the rules of those organizations, the championship belts that I possess," Kovalev said.

"Fonfara in his fight with Stevenson initially got knocked down, and then he came back and knocked down Stevenson. His mentality is very close to ours, Slavic. He has the most important quality of a fighter...in nature he may be lacking some technical and tactical aspects, but with the will to win and the character of this guy - he's good, so I would be interested to meet him. . it would be great if this fight can get organized in Moscow."

Kovalev is unbeaten with 29 wins (26 of them by knockout). Fonfara won 27 fights (16 by KO) and lost 3. Braehmer has 47 wins (35 by KO) and two defeats.

Editor's Note: Fonfara did suffer a TKO defeat at middleweight, but was never knocked flat out or stopped at 175.
