WBA/WBO/IBF light heavyweight champion Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev (27-0-1) was made a 45-1 favorite by Las Vegas bookmakers for his July 25th fight against Nadjib Mohammedi  (37-3) that takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Mohammedi was able to secure the fight because he is the IBF's mandatory challenger.

Kovalev's last fight was a knockout victory over Jean Pascal.  If both fighters emerge victorious on Saturday, there is talk of them having a rematch in the fall.

With the potential for the lucrative rematch, BoxingScene.com asked Kovalev if it is possible that he is overlooking Mohammedi.

"No I am not.  I fight hard every time.  It is my job.  Every boxer should be focused. This is a dangerous sport. This isn't checkers.  You can get hurt," said Kovalev.
