Overseas publication The Australian, reports that former junior welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu is seriously considering a return to the ring. It was revealed by Tszyu that he was hiding a shoulder injury for the last 21 months, and recently had successful surgery on shoulder last Wednesday.

Tszyu, who turns 37 next month, has not fought since his crushing defeat to Ricky Hatton, 14 months ago.

"A year ago I thought, 'that's it'. But now I think I've found something extra, I've found some other way that I want to fight. As far as I'm concerned, there are some unfinished things for me. The satisfaction is not there. It's not the way I want it to end. When I fully recover from this operation, I will make a decision. It will be a very considered decision. I will think it through a lot. I don't want any rush," said Tszyu

A big part of Tszyu's decision will have to do with his injured shoulder. If the shoulder of Tszyu heals without complications, it's likely that he will make a return. Tszyu said that he injured his shoulder after the Sharmba Mitchell rematch, and was not the same fighter in the ring with Ricky Hatton, as he was unable to throw any power punches.

"If everything is better with this (his shoulder), it's more likely that I will step in the ring again," said Tszyu.

Tszyu's is on his own with respect to a decision to return. Both his trainer, Johnny Lewis, and his wife Natasha, have urged him not to fight again.
