Watanabe Boxing Gym in Tokyo have announced that #2 world ranked WBA super flyweight champion Kohei Kono (29-8, 12 KOs, 33 years of age and Watanabe Boxing Gym) will face the #1 WBA ranked, interim world champion Denkaosen Kaovichit (62-3-1, 26 KOs, 37 years old) on the 26th of March at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Kono and Kaovichit will fight to define the new WBA super flyweight king. Currently the WBA super flyweight title is vacant because Venezuelan boxer Liborio Solis lost the crown on the scale in last December in Japan, when he failed to make weight for his bout with IBF champion Daiki Kameda.
