Editor's Note: Since the posting of this report, BoxingScene.com has been informed that Koki Kameda, like his younger brother Tomoki, signed a contract with manager/adviser Al Haymon. However, Kameda will NOT be facing Vasquez on the card, as stated below. Initially the Vasquez clash was discussed, but Kameda is actually moving down to 115-pounds where he plans to pursue his fourth divisional title. Kameda won titles at 108, 112 and 118.

According to multiple sources in Panama, a deal was reached for Roberto Vasquez (32-6-2, 22KOs) to face former three division world champion Koki Kameda (32-1, 17KOs), 27-years-old, on November 1st at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.

The card is a Showtime televised tripleheader. Koki's younger brother, Tomoki Kameda, defends his WBO bantamweight title on the card against mandatory challenger Alejandro Hernandez. Tomoki recently signed with powerful boxing manager Al Haymon. 

There is no word if Koki's fight will be showcased as part of a Showtime Extreme broadcast.

The fight would be Koki's stateside debut. He fought the majority of his career in Japan, but also fought twice in Mexico. The last time he was seen in the ring, almost a year ago in November 2013, he entered the lion's den of South Korea and barely escaped with his world title by winning a very close twelve round split decision over hometown fighter Jung-Oh Son.
