GILBERTO JESÚS MENDOZA was at ringside for the bout that saw Herrera defeat Castro. “I wanted to see with my own eyes if Castro can (come back)”, he said. “For us, (Castro) is the number one contender for not only human reasons; we want to know if he can box”. When the bout was over, with Castro losing by TKO in 4, he said: “I saw with my eyes, it’s a sad night for me, because he was my idol, but he must quit boxing, right now…”

At Cordoba, Mendoza confirmed the boxing program for the WBA KO TO DRUGS event:

Mendoza is working to make the Mosquera-Estrella fight, and looking for an opponent for Nelson Linares.

Last year, KOT TO DRUGS put on three shows in different stadiums, including Luna Park of Buenos Aires, with Castro-Harmon in the main event with Don King and Marvelous Hagler in the first row. “In this case we will homage veteran Jose Emilio Graglia, a remarkable WBA member alongside for 20 years; and Santos Laciar, three times world champion who will honored with the “Pascual Perez”  super belt.

"Evander Holyfield, Félix "Tito" Trinidad and Virgil Hill have been invited for this KO TO DRUGS”. Thats not all, because Mendoza is planning to make an exhibition fight with Mariano Carrera, the Argentinean and South American middle champion, due to Children’s Hospital Benefit.
