WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and mandatory challenger Tony Thompson are no strangers to each other. The met in the ring in 2003, prior to Klitschko's bout with Corrie Sanders. Klitschko was blown away by Sanders in two-rounds, suffering defeat for the second time in his career. Five-year later, the Klitschko and Thompson collide on Saturday night at the Color Line Arena in Germany. HBO will televise the action in America.
Klitschko told German media members that Thompson is having a memory lapse on how their experience played out during sparring. Thompson of course does not agree with Klitschko's story and thinks it may be Klitschko who forgets what happened.
"The fight won't go twelve-rounds. If Klitschko can't remember what happened, it's his problem. I will show him in the ring. I am 100 times better than I was at that time," Thompson said.
