A recent report by boxing scribe Dan Rafael reports that IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is targeting the man who stopped him within five rounds in April 2004 to win the vacant WBO heavyweight title, Lamon Brewster.

Klitschko would have liked to face undefeated WBA heavyweight champ Nikolai Valuev, but with Valuev making a mandatory defense in April, a unification clash in the summer is out.

Shelly Finkel, Klitschko's adviser, told Rafael that he is in talks with Brewster's adviser Al Haymon to get the fight done. Klitschko would like to fight Brewster in June, but Finkel says that late July or early August is more likely. HBO likes the fight and Germany is the country of choice to stage the event.

"I would love to get the rematch with Brewster," Klitschko told Rafael. "This defeat is still a thorn in my side. I think this would be a huge event and definitely one of those few fights the boxing fans around the world would love to see. I know that Lamon is a very dangerous opponent and he has lost his title only because of the eye injury he suffered in his last fight."
