Callum Smith (18-0, 13KOs) is set for action one more time before the year is out.
The Liverpool super middleweight dazzled audiences earlier this month when he ended the challenge of fellow Scouser Rocky Fielding inside a round to win the British title.
With just 165 seconds under his belt since winning the vacant WBC Silver title against Christopher Rebrasse in June, the 25-year-old will soon be handed a spot on a big overseas card.
Smith is to feature over 10 rounds in an international contest on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s world heavyweight title challenge against Wladimir Klitschko on November 28 at the ESPRIT Arena in Düsseldorf.
And promoter Eddie Hearn, who has waxed lyrical about ‘Mundo’ in recent weeks following his breathtaking display at the Echo Arena, said that the addition to the Sky Sports Box Office bill will soon be official.
“There is a good chance [that Smith will go on the Klitschko-Fury card], we’ll hope to announce something in the next 48 hours.
“If it’s not announced in this week, it’ll be the beginning of next week because the fight is next Saturday.”
