IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is taking his upcoming defense very seriously. Klitschko will defend his titles against Tyson Fury on November 28 at ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf.
Originally scheduled on October 24th, the fight has been postponed due to Klitschko suffering an injury in training camp. After a comprehensive medical examination the champion was given the green light on Friday for the fight to proceed at the end of November.
Fury has done a lot of talking, a lot of joking and tried everything possible to get under Klitschko's skin.
Fury raced to their recent London press conference in a Batman costume and beat up someone dressed up as the comic book villain Joker.
After Klitschko withdrew, Fury was furious and claimed the withdrawal was intentional to buy more time.
The champion's manager, Bernd Boente, rejects the idea that his fighter fabricated the injury in order to gain more training time.
"At the press conference in Germany and the UK, they know he's a funny guy and talks a lot but we all know that he's a very dangerous opponent, one of most dangerous opponents that Wladimir has ever had. He's taller, he's younger, has a very good amateur background but Wladimir will be prepared. We know that it's a big fight," Boente told Sky Sports.
When asked for his opinion on the outcome, Boente expressed to the interviewer that he is "100%" confident of Wladimir walking away with his titles.
