As part of the untelevised portion of the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley 3 undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, welterweight prospect Egis Kavaliauskas(12-0, 11 KO's) faces the undefeated Deniz Ilbay (15-0, 8 KO's) in an eight rounder.
Kavaliauskas is managed by Egis Klimas, best known for handling the careers of light heavyweight king Sergey Kovalev and WBO featherweight belt-holder Vasyl Lomachenko. Klimas believes he has another boxer he can put on the fast track.
"Well, you've known me for some time - I've wanted to move him yesterday," Klimas told BoxingScene.com.
"But it depends on how quick Top Rank can move him. So that's my only concern. If they're going to tell me that the next fight is going to be Jesse Vargas (who holds the WBO 147-pound title) or another champion, or the winner of Bradley-Pacquiao, I am in to sign it.
"But if that possibility is not available, it's not on me. I am always asking for better opposition, talking to the matchmakers at Top Rank. If they're willing to move him quickly as possible, I am for it."
'The Mean Machine' as he is called blew out Prenice Brewer in two rounds on Februry 13th in his last outing. Kavaliauskas is trained by Robert Garcia.
