Los Angeles, CA - Michael King, Founder and CEO of King Sports passed away on Wednesday, May 27 at the age of 67.

A pioneer in syndicated television prior to founding King Sports, the New Jersey native brought a passion and unique perspective that helped make King Sports among the most respected promoters in the world.

“As he did in the entertainment world, Michael elevated and enhanced the sport of boxing with his involvement,” said Paul Cain, Director of Boxing Operations. “He was full of great ideas and always wanted his fighters fully prepared to excel once they stepped in the ring.”

Cain stated, “King Sports will miss the love, joy, values and enthusiasm Michael instilled in each one of us every day.  With immeasurable dedication to Michael, we will follow in his footsteps with our work ahead. We have a terrific team and exciting fights ahead of us, including Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam v David Lemieux on June 20th at the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada for the middleweight world title.”

King Sports is proud of its stable of world-class fighters and continues to do business with the same talented staff Michael King put in place. All scheduled events, including all training camps and promotional activities for such events, will take place without interruption or delay.
