Rising female boxing star, Peruvian Kina Malpartida (12-3, 3KOs) confirmed to a local newspaper that she plans to defend her title in November in Peru. Her team is making calls to finalize an opponent.
She burst on the scene last February with a TKO win over previously unbeaten Maureen Shea to capture the vacant WBA female super featherweight title in New York's Madison Square Garden. Since the title win, she defended the title three times with wins over Halana Dos Santos, Liliana Palmera and Lyndsey Scragg. The next opponent could become Olivia Gerula of Canada.
"My spirits are up because I'm going to defend my title, but I'm even happier because I'll fight in Peru with the warmth of my people, and that's my main motivation to win," Kina said.
