The Kid Galahad vs Dennis Ceylan showdown, for the IBF I/C 126 lb title on July 15 in London, is now off after the British Boxing Board of Control rejected the contest after Ceylan´s recent drug test that came up positive for cocaine.

Ceylan was in early June still the EBU champ and the plan was to defend the title in Spain against Marc Vidal, but the contract was reportedly never signed. On June 13 the news came that the fight against Galahad was on and that he had relinquished the EBU title.

On June 20, Danish paper BT broke the story that Ceylan had before all this tested positive for cocaine with the WBC's Clean Boxing Program but as they don´t have a deal with the Danish Federation there was no suspension was given - and no public information either.

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, former WBA light heavyweight champion Juergen Braehmer is on for the World Boxing Super Series Tournament in super middleweight.

Braehmer, 48-3, was last seen in October of 2016 when he lost the title to Nathan Cleverly.  A rematch was talked about but never happened and Braehmer has since then mainly been active as a trainer for among others WBA super middleweight titlist Tyron Zeuge, who is not a part of the WBSS.

Braehmer thus joins stablemates George Groves and Erik Skoglund in the tournament along with Jamie Cox, who is promoted by Matchroom Sport.

Making the weight could be difficult for the now 38-year old but one must remember that when Braehmer moved up to 175 from super middle, somewhere late 2007, it was not because of any weight issues but mainly due to the fact that he was unable at that time get a title shot at 168.
