Undefeated Commonwealth super bantamweight champion Kid Galahad (17-0, 9KOs) is inspired by the rise of his close friend, Kell Brook. Galahad was ringside earlier this month at the StubHub Center in Carson, and watched Brook make a splash on the world stage by unseating Shawn Porter for the IBF welterweight title.

"This is the status I will achieve,” Brook told The Sheffield Star.

Galahad returns on September 20th against Tyson Cave (24-2, 8KOs) at the Ponds Forge Arena in Sheffield. He feels ready for the best at the weight and plans to get a world title shot in the near future.

"I am trying to get mandatory challenger for the world title” Galahad said. “It is the route John Ingle (manager) and Mick Hennessy (promoter) put me on. (It should be) two fights to get me in a mandatory position. But if I was me a fight for a world title I’d take it. Personally I don’t believe any of them would take me on.”

“I am more than just a European champion. I feel like I have gone up another level now, world level."
