British star Amir Khan is getting himself ready for a planned return in late May. The current WBC silver welterweight champion is hoping to land a big fight in 2015, but he doubts that major fight will come against one of the two biggest names at the weight.

Khan thinks it is unlikely that he, or anyone else, will face Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao in the near future.

Mayweather and Pacquiao are set to unify their WBCO/WBC/WBA welterweight titles in a major event on May 2nd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Khan has already picked Mayweather to win, but he believes the fight will be close. Because of the enormous amount of money involved, Khan expects the two fighters to lock horns for a second time in a fall rematch - if the May fight ends up being close as he predicts.

He said: “In my opinion I think the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will be quite close and they might have a rematch and that could be the last fight for either of them. I could see that happening – this fight could be very close and they could go into a rematch.”
