BoxingScene.com was advised that the WBA issued a resolution on Thursday that orders the camps of junior welterweight champion Amir Khan and mandatory challenger Dmitriy Salita to reach a deal within 14 days - or a call for a purse bid will be issued. Khan-Salita is slated to take place in early December in the UK. The date of December 5 has been mentioned a few times.
Additionally, the winner of Khan-Salita has 90 days to fight the interim-champion Marcos Maidana. No unification bouts will be approved until a "sole [WBA] champion" exists at the weight. In other words, the winner has to fight Maidana or face the possibility of being stripped.
