Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) has denied that any recent negotiations have taken place for a summer showdown with domestic rival Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs), who holds the IBF welterweight world title.

Brook's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, was quoted as saying that a Khan-Brook showdown was possible for next May or June. Hearn already has a June date on hold at Wembley.

Khan is claiming that Hearn has not reached out to him or his team to discuss the fight.

First up for Brook is a mandatory defense. The IBF recently ordered him to face Kevin Bizier of Canada. A fight with Bizier will be a tough sell in the UK. Earlier this year, Brook destroyed Jo Jo Dan in four rounds and Dan holds two decision wins over Bizier.

Khan is looking to return in "the first quarter" of 2016. He maintains his disappointment with Brook's level of opposition since winning the world title last year with a close decision over Shawn Porter.

"A big UK fight for me is someone like Kell Brook. I like the fight, but it's all about negotiations. No negotiations have happened. I know on Twitter Eddie has been saying that he's got a big fight and the fight's been done. Eddie has not picked up the phone to me or my team and said 'let's get the fight done.' All of that is just rumors. He's just hyping up everyone, I dont know why he's doing that," Khan explained to MGM Scotland.

"That ball is their court. I like the fight, but he has to pick up the phone and talk to my team."
