British star Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) feels WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has two choices for the opponent's slot on May 2nd.

Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, has been trying to secure Mayweather through CBS CEO Les Moonves - but there is silence coming from Mayweather's team regarding the terms - according to Arum.

If Mayweather steps away from facing Pacquiao, then Khan feels he is without question the only alternative option for Mayweather. But, Mayweather has already downplayed the idea of facing Khan. Mayweather is of the opinion that Khan's name is not yet big enough for a pay-per-view event.

Khan told The Bolton News: “I think I am one of the biggest names in boxing. I have huge viewing figures when I fight and a hug fan base in America and worldwide in places like Pakistan and UAE. A Mayweather fight would sell all around the world."

“That appeal would bring money to the table – more than [Marcos] Maidana or many of his previous fighters. This could generate a lot of money. Maybe it is mind games I don’t know. Noone really knows with Floyd because you don’t know what to expect from him. He can act childish but he is only making himself look bad by backing down from fights."
