In a recent interview with The Sun, former champion Amir Khan lashed out at his British rival Kell Brook. Khan claims that he knew a long time ago that Brook would never go forward with a planned fight against IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander.

The fight was canceled three times due to injuries. Brook withdrew twice, and now Alexander will face Lee Purdy on May 18th in Atlantic City.

Brook has been calling for a Khan showdown for the last two years, but Amir is not interested.

“I think the only reason he’s calling me out is to get that one big payday, whereas I don’t need to fight him to prove anything. I’m a class above him but he’s going to say what he wants, which doesn’t bother me. Whatever he wants to say, he can say," Khan said.
