There could be some British head to head action on the American cable networks. Reportedly December 10th is one of the three working dates that Showtime offered to WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch for his unification with WBA king Andre Ward. On the same night, network rival HBO is televising Amir Khan's defense of the WBA/IBF junior welterweight titles against mandatory challenger Lamont Peterson.
Froch was scheduled to face Ward on October 29th, but Ward suffered a cut above his right eye in a sparring session and withdrew from the contest on Thursday. Froch is seriously considering the date in December, but also pondering other possibilities. Showtime made the date of December 10 available after a card involving WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios fell through.
"I know Khan fights on December 10 but it's down to the American TV companies who are also looking at a week before and a week after as possible dates," Froch told The Sun.
