MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada - Former two-division champion Amir Khan capped off a successful 2014 campaign with a dominant victory over three-time champion Devon Alexander.  The final tallies were 120-108, 119-109 and 118-110. In May he knocked Luis Collazo down three times in another rout on the scorecards.  Those final scores read 119-104 twice and 117-106.

Khan used his advantages in height and length to near perfection as he kept Alexander at the end of his jab for most of the night. He said that he could have fought on the inside a little bit more but that he was having so much success he decided not to change up his strategy.

"If I am beating him up by fighting him long then I should keep it long. If Devon changed it up and was having success I would have fought him on the inside but I am getting older and wiser now. I want to make it easy for me. Why put myself in dangerous positions and make it harder for myself when I can make it easy?" Khan explained.

As for his future plans, it is no secret that a fight against pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather is the ultimate goal for the UK native.  Khan has openly campaigned for the Mayweather fight for the past couple of years and feels that his success in 2014 has given him the needed to credentials to secure the mega-fight.

"The Mayweather fight I think definitely should happen. I have proven myself not once but twice (at welterweight). I still have to spend more time in the gym. All of this time before I didn't spend in the gym. I used to cheat myself. By spending more time in the gym you can see my last two performances under Virgil Hunter I am more dedicated.  I am only learning more and getting better," Khan told BoxingScene.com.
