During their press conference in Los Angeles, WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan began to bait his December 11 opponent, Marcos Maidana. The big Argentine puncher believes Khan has a glass jaw and he aims to crack that chin. Khan, who often trains with one of the hardest hitters in the sport, says his chin is not as bad as some people think.
Khan has sparred in the past with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. He says his chin has stood up to the best punches that were landed by Pacquiao. Khan is heading to the Philippines to train under Freddie Roach and conditioning coach Alexa Ariza.
"I'm not scared of anyone. I'll fight anyone you put in front of me. When I beat Maidana, I want to let my fists do the talking, not my words. When people say I have a weak chin, I respond by saying that Pacquiao gave me his best shot and couldn't wobble me," Khan said.
Khan is taking a different approach, or so he claims. The British champion has vowed to punch with the puncher in Las Vegas.
"I'm going do something different in this fight, something nobody's ever seen me do. I'm changing my style. I'm going to come in and be the big puncher. This fight, is going to be explosive," Khan said.
