Khabib Allakhverdiev (17-0, 8KOs) will have former champion and veteran coach John David Jackson in his corner on November 30th in Sunrise, Florida. Khabib will face Joan Guzman (33-0-1, 20KOs) for the vacant WBA "regular" junior welterweight crown.

Khabib ran into a training conflict with coach Kostya Tszyu, who is also training WBA cruiserweight king Denis Lebedev for his next fight. Because Khabib chose to train in the United States, and Lebedev is getting ready in Russia, Tszyu was unable to go back and forth between both locations.

"It was the general solution of our team," said manager Vladimir Hryunov, who handles the careers of Khabib and Lebedev. "[Khabib] will be trained by John David Jackson. Khabib needed to prepare in the U.S., but here, in Moscow, Lebedev is in the middle of a training camp. There is no possibility to leave Denis without a trainer in order to focus on Khabib. It is a normal working situation, there is nothing personal. The relationship between the coach and athlete has remained the same."
