Details of probably the last meaningful Russian boxing tourney in 2014 has been revealed tonight by its mastermind Vladimir Hryunov, who stages this nice-packed boxing show on December 11 at Dynamo Palace of Sports in Krylatskoye, Moscow, Russia.
As has been reported earlier by BoxingScene.com, in the main event, WBA #2 rated super middleweight Fedor Chudinov (11-0, 9 KOs) will be tested tough by fellow undefeated and WBA #4 Australian Ben McCulloch (14-0, 11 KOs) for a right to become an interim WBA 168 lb titlist (with “bigger” belts being owned by no other than Carl Froch and Andre Ward).
The undercard of the show is being slowly filled in with some familiar names. As was reported earlier today by Allboxing’s Grigory Stangrit, comebacking Russian heavyweight Alexander Ustinov (29-1, 21 KOs), who is now signed by Hryunov, is looking at Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson (7-0, 6 KOs) as his opponent in a scheduled ten-rounder. This news has been then denounced by the internet legend’s promoter Gary Show based on the purse offered. Negotiations are seemingly under way.
Another notable comeback is loomed, as the WBA #4 rated light welterweight Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9 KOs) will fight for the first time since his controversial loss to Jesse Vargas earlier this year, a loss he where lost his WBA regalia. To kick off a new road to the championship fight, Allakhverdiev will tune-up against Julio De Jesus (22-1, 21 KOs) of the Dominican Republic. De Jesus’ record looks solid… on paper, as he has fought exclusively in his homeland and was stopped by Victor Manuel Cayo, the only continental level opponent he has ever fought.
Also on the card are: WBA #4 ranked middleweight Arif Magomedov (13-0, 8 KOs), Azerbaijani light welterweight Ramal Amanov (6-0) and light heavyweight Alexey Stakanchikov (3-1, 2 KOs). Their opponents will be announced later on.
