A big lightweight bout may be in play. Rising star Kevin Mitchell (31-0, 23KOs) stopped Ignacio Mendoza at Wembley Arena in two rounds on Saturday. Mitchell had few issues with his defense of the WBO intercontinental title. The next fight for Mitchell may come in the form of Michael Katsidis, who is the WBO's interim-lightweight champion. Katsidis could become the full champion with the current holder of the title, Juan Manuel Marquez, likely choosing to stay at 140-pounds.

Mitchell's promoter Frank Warren told press members the WBO has given him 28 days to reach a deal for Mitchell vs. Katsidis. He wants the fight to take place in Wembley and says Mitchell will win by knockout.

"The WBO have given us 28 days to negotiate the fight with Katsidis," Warren said. "I would like to see it here and see the same [result] again."
