Danish Hall of Fame promoter Mogens Palle has offered Mikkel Kessler (45-2, 34KOs) $1 million USD net plus $50,000 USD in training expenses to fight WBA interim-super middleweight champion Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25KOs) in late October or early November.
At stake will be the WBA regular title left vacant by Karoly Balzsay, who is sidedlined with injuries.
Team Magee have been given permission from the WBA to choose any opponent from the Top 15 in the current ratings. Kessler fought his last fight at light heavyweight but came in just above the super middleweight limit and should be able to make 168 without any problems.
