Ameristar Casino in Saint Charles, Missouri - In a crossroads fight, a closley pitched fight saw former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (33-4-1, 28KOs) bounce back from last month's loss to Carlos Molina with a ten round unanimous decision win over Antwone Smith (20-3-1, 12KOs). The scores were 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94.

It was inside fight for nearly the entire way and the action was close. Both boxers were throwing a lot of punches. The volume of power punches was nearly even between the two boxers, with Cintron landing the harder blows, but his face took most of the damage with a bloody nose and a cut around the left eye was opened up in the tenth and final round.

Lightweight prospect Dannie Williams (19-1, 15KOs) knocked out Antonio Cervantes (16-6) in the fourth round. Cervantes went down in the first, but Williams landed a huge right hand that sent him down on his back in the fourth. He was out and referee Steve Smoger waved it off.
