Kermit Cintron had an uninvited visitor at his final press conference for Saturday's bout with Julian Ramos in Puerto Rico. WBA junior middleweight champion Daniel Santos interrupted the "Broadway Boxing Puerto Rico" press conference to issue a challenge to Cintron, and insults went back and forth.
"The people who know me know that I'm not usually not like this, but you have come to Puerto Rico to disrespect people. You looked ridiculous against Antonio Margarito. You said you want to fight me. I am here right now, "Santos was quoted as saying by Primera Hora.
Cintron told Santos to win his fight against Yuri Foreman on November 14 in Las Vegas, and then the two of them could discuss a fight. Cintron says the Santos beef has been brewing for a few years.
"Daniel, luck in your fight. First win and then we'll talk. We can do it in Puerto Rico if you want," said Cintron. "I don't know what Daniel's problem is. I have always felt great respect for him as a champion. This all started when he fought Margarito in Puerto Rico and I thought Margarito won. I had never seen Daniel fight up until then. You heard it, he wants to fight me and I know the reasons."
