Scottish boxing hopeful Kenny Anderson has been charged with attempted murder. Anderson, 26, is accused of beating a man about the head with a hammer, the man, 23, was attacked last Tuesday. Anderson, who has been training in Los Angeles for the last week, returned home to Scotland to face the charge.
Anderson won a Commonwealth Games bronze medal at light-heavyweight in 2006, he was undefeated as a pro, and things seemed to be motoring along nicely.
However, recently it was rumored that he was about to lose his professional license due to his failing a brain scan, his wife Lisa has vehemently denied these claims, she told the Edinburgh Evening News that the speculation over his health is misleading.
"Kenny has his annual scan coming up as part of his medical check," she claimed. "He is committed to his boxing career and was training for his next fight."
Anderson is 10-0 as a pro boxer; he would have been expected to make a step up over the coming year, but now looks likely to be engaged in a far more important fight. Anderson has been remanded in custody; he will be called into court again today.
