Edinburgh’s Kenny Anderson will make his fourth appearance of 2011 on VIP Promotion’s December 16th bill at Colne’s Municipal Hall. Anderson has stopped Joe Rea, Lee Duncan and Paul Morby already this year and has been confirmed for the small hall bill.
‘The Widowmaker’ is managed by VIP boss Steve Wood, he has a handshake deal in place with Matchroom Sports, they have given the go-ahead to the December date and are now looking for an opponent for the 28-year-old.
Anderson pushed current British and Commonwealth boss George Groves hard in November 2010, flooring his man heavily before succumbing in the sixth. Kenny hopes to join the 168lb title mix in 2012.
The Scottish hard case, 15-1 (11), forced Rea to retire in the corner after four rounds at the same venue in July. Dubbed the ‘York Hall of the North’, Colne’s main hall is a compact venue and will host an atmospheric night’s boxing come the 16th.
