According to boxing scribe George Kimball, Bob Arum of Top Rank is planning on putting together a Tuesday pay-per-view on September 23 in Mexico City, which features Kelly Pavlik and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The date of the pay-per-view is said to coincide with Mexican Independence Day.

In the main event, Pavlik will defend his title against Mexican banger, Marco Antonio Rubio. The original plan (and it could still change back) was for Pavlik to fight Rubio as part of a homecoming bout in Ohio. Pavlik defends his titles against WBO mandatory Gary Lockett on June 7 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

The co-feature pits Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. against Hector Camacho Jr. The two sons will pikc up where their fathers left off. Chavez Sr. dominated Camacho Sr. in a 1992 pay-per-view that was held at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
