According to a recent report in the Las Vegas Review Journal , two of the hardest punching middleweights could possibly meet in the next few months.

If Kelly Pavlik (29-0, 26KOs) wins as expected against Jose Luis Zertuche on January 27 in the co-feature of an HBO card from Anaheim, Calif., the next stop would likely be against Edison Miranda (27-1, 24KOs).

Top Rank head Bob Arum and Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing have held discussions and both sides want the fight.

"I really believe Kelly Pavlik is going to be the next big thing in the middleweight division," he said. "... He's exciting. People want to see that," Arum said.

Margules said that the only obstacle that would prevent the fight from taking place is if a Jermain Taylor bout was on the table.
