Kell Brook could face rising American star Mike Jones for the Interim WBO World Welterweight title next.

Promoter Frank Warren has approached Jones' promoter Bob Arum and the WBO about making the fight for December in London on Warren's big 30th anniversary show.

Sheffield sensation Brook recorded his 22nd win in Birmingham earlier this month when he stopped long time British rival Michael Jennings in the fifth round.

Jones, from Philadelphia, is also undefeated in 22 fights 18 going early and is ranked behind Brook at number 2 in the WBO rankings.

Russell Peltz, his promoter in Philadelphia, says of Jones: "Some people look at Mike and see a young Thomas Hearns,"

Brook said, "I'm so close to fighting for the world title now and I'm really excited,"

"If it's going to be Mike Jones next, then bring him on. I've got no fear of anyone that Frank puts in front of me."

"I look at his record and his long list of knockouts and I know that it would be one hell of a fight, but I know I would come out on top."
