UK welterweight prospect Kell Brook (19-0, 12KOs) retained his BBBofC British welterweight title  by blowing away Stuart Elwell (12-4, 1KOs) within two rounds at York Hall.

The fight was barely a contest. In less than a minute, Elwell went down from a left hand. He was nearly stopped in the final moments of the first when another left put him down. Brook pushed forward in the second and began to really punish Elwell with punches before the referee had seen enough and jumped in to stop the fight.

"I caught him twice on the first round, stayed composed, and took him. I'm looking at a European title by the end of the year," said Brook to The Telegraph .

Promoter Frank Warren told the paper that he views Brook as a special fighter with the ability to become a major star.

"There are possibilities of him going all the way. He has the power, all the shots, but we won't rush him. By the end of the year e should be fighting either at European level or against the European champion. Kell has the same mannerisms as Naz [Hamed], and punches like Naz, but he is his own man. He will be the name on everyone's lips by the end of the year," Warren said.
