British welterweight prospetc Kell Brook (18-0, 11KOs) is making a lot of noise overseas. In his first defense of the British welterweight title, he stopped veteran Kevin McIntyre (26-6, 8KOs) in about two-minutes of the first round, stunning the Glasgow's crowd at Kelvin Hall.

A huge right hand dropeed McIntyre after a minute of action, he would quickly get dropped two more times before the fight was stopped. McItyre was trying to regain the title that was stipped from him due to an injury related layoff.

"Best two minutes of my life," Brook told Sky Sports. "I didn't think it would be that easy but Dominic (Ingle, trainer) said it would be. He said 'you'll have no problems at all because you've done the hard training'. I am now the genuine champion. I took the man out who claimed he was the champion."

On the undercard, Ricky Burns stopped Yakubu Amidu, retaining his Commonwealth super featherweight. A clash of heads in the first opened up a cut above the eye of Burns, but he boxed his way throughout the fight until catching Amidu in the seventh and closing with punches to force the stoppage.

"I wanted to get a big win and put on a good show for the fans in Scotland. But also to push my name up there for a fight with the winner of Cook-Foster," said Burns. "I think with that performance I have. There was a lot of talk that I have no power but I've proved I have."
