Unbeaten Egidijus "The Mean Machine" Kavaliauskas will return to the ring on April 8, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told BoxingScene.com.
The hard-hitting welterweight will fight in a six round bout on the undercard of the Top Rank that will take place at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The HBO televised main event will feature Vasyl Lomachenko defending his WBO super featherweight world title against Jason Sosa.
Kavaliauskas (15-0, 12 KOs) had to grind out a close unanimous decision win over Cameron Kreal on October 14. The Lithuania-born fighter was hurt in round seven and had to hold on as Kreal came on late in the fight.
Kavaliauskas, who now resides in Oxnard, suffered a cut over his left eye and needed time to recuperate while the cut healed.
After stopping 11 opponents in a row, Kavaliuskas has won two of his last three bouts by decision.
Egis Klimas manages Kavaliauskas and Lomachenko.
