Michael Katsidis (27-4, 22 KOs) is getting ready for his next ring return, on August 13 at Broadbeach , and he plans to dominate scheduled oppnent Michael Lozada (30-8-1, 30 KOs). Katsidis is very focused on loanding a possible fight with Mexican icon Erik Morales (51-7, 35 KOs). The two sides have discussed the possibility of a fight in the fall. Katsidis will place a lot of money on the table in an effort to entice Morales to take the fight in Australia.
A lot of people are calling for Katsidis to retire, after the terrible beating he took in his last fight against Robert Guerrero, but retirement is not on the menu.
"If I beat Lozada, on the horizon is Erik Morales. I could have gone to Las Vegas and fought him before this fight. But I wanted to fight at home. There will be enough there to draw Erik Morales over to Australia after this fight. Morales has got a win over Pacquiao. I don't see what they get at when they say I can't step up. There are always critics. They have to poke at something. I take it with a grain of salt. I'm undeterred. I know what I'm capable of. I'm capable of fighting and beating the best in the world," Katsidis told the Brisbane Times.
