David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.

ProboxTV’s championship series is now on the ProBoxTV YouTube channel for $5/month.

Matchroom BoxingKatie Taylor is looking forward to retirement after spending many of her 40 years dedicated to boxing.
Taylor moved to 26-1 (6 KOs) on Saturday night when she dominated Flora Pili on an emotional night at Croke Park, Dublin. The event – Taylor’s swansong after a legendary career – had been a long time in the making.
A 2012 Olympic champion and amateur sensation, Taylor famously convinced promoter Eddie Hearn to take a chance on her as a professional. What followed, after turning over in 2016 following disappointment at the Rio Olympics, was one of the greatest careers ever seen in women’s boxing.
A three-time undisputed champion, Taylor defeated rival Amanda Serrano three times in arguably the fiercest rivalry of all time in the female code, each of them a memorable occasion. Her lone loss to Chantelle Cameron was avenged against the odds, too.
She will remain the inspiration to many young boxers for a long time.
Yet the sign off in Dublin was perhaps the best night of all, at least in terms of atmosphere given all she achieved after having to pretend she was a boy in order just to box in the first place.
"It was everything I expected and more," Taylor said about her final contest.
"Thankfully I was able to hold my emotions together, as I was getting emotional all week and the last few months' preparation was so emotional.
"The atmosphere was so special. It was beyond my wildest dreams. What a special night."
"I'm retired now so I can eat what I want, but I'm just going to enjoy a nice celebration and look back on a dream ending to a dream career.
"We all have our ups and downs. I think people resonate with your vulnerabilities and your successes - saw me cope with the heartbreak of Rio, the Chantelle Cameron loss and personal difficulties.
"My story is the story of everyone in this room."
