It was reported in Uganda's New Vision, that former junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma, has signed a contract to fight unbeaten Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora (19-0, 4KOs) on September 15 at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada. The same Mora who turned down a significant payday to fight middleweight champion Jermain Taylor (due to the fight being in Memphis), and was eventually replaced by Cory Spinks.

It was said that Ouma turned down an undercard spot on the Bernard Hopkins vs. Winky Wright July 15 pay-per-view because Golden Boy Promotions was offering very little money for the fight. Another planned bout, against Ishe Smith, was scrapped when Smith himself cut ties with Golden Boy Promotions.
