The Uganda Vision reports that former junior middleweight champion Kassim Ouma will not be moving back to 154-pounds. Ouma felt that he did so good against recognized middleweight champion Jermain Taylor in his last outing, that there is no reason to go back down in weight.
Taylor was Ouma's first bout at the middleweight level. Most experts predicted that Ouma would get knocked out by the much larger champion, but Ouma was able to go the distance and held his own in the fight.
Ouma said that he physically feels better at the middleweight level, but is willing to make a fight at 154-pounds for the right kind of money.
"I'm a middleweight now, and I'm going to stay in the middleweight division. I want a rematch with Jermain Taylor. Next time I will knock him out. I'll fight anyone at middleweight and junior middleweight," Ouma said. "I want to fight the best."
